An airplane pilot who has made the journey of a lifetime to save 51 little creatures is a perfect example of this reasoning.
It’s about Michael Schneider, a kind animal lover who’s now committed to saving them, and he’s doing it by doing what he does best: flying.
Schneider decided to combine his two big hobbies in 2015 and founded the nonprofit Pilots to the Rescue, where he is in charge of flying rescue missions to save animals whose lives are in danger.
The majority of Michael’s journeys with the charity have been to transfer animals at risk of being put to sleep in their shelters, which he then transports to other, safer shelters.
Michael is willing to help any animal in need, whether it is a cat or a dog, but this time he was involved in a very significant rescue.
Carolina Cat Rescue has rescued 51 stray cats, but they were unable to care for them due to a lack of funding.
Michael’s participation in that stage of the rescue was crucial. The man took it upon himself to transport the animals from New Jersey to North Carolina, where they would be assisted by New England volunteers.
The kittens were placed in foster homes until a permanent home could be found for each of them. For this man, it was a once-in-a-lifetime event, as he had never traveled with so many animals on board before.
Michael’s tremendous labor benefits not only the lives of animals but also the shelters themselves, making him an indirect savior of future creatures.
The explanation is simple: these excursions are extremely expensive and difficult for groups to fund, therefore by using their services, people help these organizations stay afloat and spend their funds in rescuing additional animals.
