Ana, a cat who spent weeks in a shelter, is on her way home. Ana’s adoption tale isn’t usual, since most kittens at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home spend only a few weeks at the South West London shelter. This adorable black kitten was born a bit unusually. Her physical features, which included a cleft lip and a missing eye, worried shelter employees that she would never find a home. Ana, on the other hand, has found her family due to some great cat lovers.
Ana came at Battersea at the age of seven weeks in December.
Ana has a distinct look due to her missing eye and cleft lip.
In an age when practically every pet has their own Instagram account, Battersea workers were concerned that Ana’s appearance would not fulfill adopters’ expectations for a lovely new kitten.
Battersea’s Cattery Manager, Rachel Saunders, said:
“It’s really a pity that when people are looking for a new pet, they accept animals at face value rather than looking beyond their appearance for distinctive idiosyncrasies and personalities.”
Ana is also a black cat, which adds to her unusual appearance. Superstitions and myths about black cats make it difficult for them to find homes at animal shelters.
Ana watched as other kittens went to their new homes while the universe conspired against her. She was finally placed in a foster home by Battersea. The staff at the shelter, on the other hand, was determined to help Ana find a family of her own.
Battersea began publicizing Ana’s cleft lip, delivering the message that “different” is wonderful.
Ana may not appear to be your usual kitten, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t need a loving home.
Wow, thank you so much for your unwavering love and support for Ana! It appears to have paid off, as she has now found a home!
