Fergus is a wonderful brown and white cat who was recently treated for a major spinal injury at Oaks Veterinary Urgent Care in Agoura Hills, California, USA. The adorable rescue cat now makes an extra effort to aid the other cats’ recovery when they visit the clinic.
From the center of his back down, he was paralyzed.
Dr. Rachel continued:
Amazingly, Fergus, or Ferg as we call him, still retained feeling in his tail and rear legs after I did some preparation work. Although I couldn’t use or move them, I could feel when I struck them, which suggested there was a chance he could be able to walk and use the restroom independently once more.
Although his rehabilitation would be lengthy and difficult, the veterinarian placed all of their hopes in the tiny cat.
In her words:
“Since Ferg is a Scottish Fold, he required a fitting Scottish name. In Scotland, where I attended veterinary school, I gave him the name Fergus, which means Man of Strength.
At the veterinarian, they concentrated on treating the urinary tract infection, and any success the cat had was good news for the clinic staff. A few weeks later, Fergus was able to stand up again.
As Rachel said:
“I’d like to think that our care played a role, but it didn’t. Fergus had been inspired after making a new kitty companion.
Salvador, the clinic cat, observed Fergus from the minute he came. It appeared like they were conversing since both cats started meowing.
Salvador approached Fergus’ cage after we set a seat in front of it and said, “Hello. Ferg got up out of his chair. We were overjoyed!
